Corporate Citizenship
At BioInvent, we are committed to being a responsible corporate citizen by improving the ways in which our business activities have a social, environmental and economic impact. This takes many forms, from the diverse workforce that we employ, the high internal Health and Safety standards that we set and operate, through to our involvement and investment in the local academic community.
Employees - BioInvent is dedicated to providing a stimulating and nurturing environment for all our employees.
Our workforce is diverse and balanced, with employees from more
than 16 different countries and female employees representing over
60% of our total workforce. BioInvent provides an informal and
flexible working environment, where the importance of motivating
and retaining a highly skilled and diverse workforce is recognised.
We have employment policies that meet and exceed those required by
Swedish Employment law e.g we offer our employees private medical
insurance in addition to what is required by the Collective
agreement. To further protect our employee's health and
wellbeing we have invested in preventative measures and
rehabilitation programmes which facilitate a smooth transition back
to work for employees who have had the misfortune to be on long
term sick leave. We offer our employees an annual contribution
towards wellness activities (e.g. gym membership, massage) and the
opportunity to receive subsidised lunches.
We believe strongly in developing and retaining a skilled and professional workforce through investing in training and ongoing professional and personal development. All our employees benefit from regular reviews, feedback and knowledge sharing between teams. Internal communication is accomplished through a staff intranet and scheduled meetings to update all staff on company developments (including those on leave).
Health and Safety - BioInvent is committed to achieving and maintaining high standards of Health and Safety.
Our Health and Safety committee, that is also represented by senior
management, meets annually following an entire internal review and
audit of our Health and Safety practices. Plans and protocols are
reviewed and objectives set for the future. External Health and
Safety inspections have always successfully met the required,
stringent criteria.
Environment - BioInvent seeks to minimise the environmental impact of its business and scientific/research activities.
We achieve this through cooperating with the initiatives of the
Ideon Science Park to recycle waste and reduce energy consumption,
as well as through BioInvent's own rigorous standard operating
procedures regarding disposal of hazardous waste and recycling of
office and laboratory material. BioInvent's manufacturing permit
also contains provisions for appropriate consideration of the
environment.
Community - BioInvent works with its local scientific community, sharing resources, time and funds.
We participate in the local community at a variety of levels,
including the active involvement of our senior and research staff
in teaching and at board level at the University of Lund through to
inviting students to carry out research projects and gain
laboratory experience.
